Sitesize és una plataforma de projectes col·laboratius al
voltant de la metròpolis contemporània. Des del 2002 desenvolupa
treballs específics de creació i mediació cultural
a la regió metropolitana de Barcelona. Els seus àmbits d’interès
se centren en les pràctiques de producció cultural autònoma
i la recerca de noves geografies territorials i paisatgístiques.

Founded in 2002 by Elvira Pujol and Joan Vila-Puig, it develops specific
creation and mediation projects in the Barcelona metropolitan area. Their
areas of interest centre on autonomous cultural production practices and

SITESIZE trabaja desde la cultura visual, la representación territorial
y el desarrollo comunitario como base de acciones que conforman, identifican,
transforman los lugares y las dinámicas sociales. Territorios y
realidades locales que se construyen colectivamente desde la ciudadanía.
Trabajar en el ámbito local como espacio privilegiado de experimentación,
como nuevas formas de acción colectiva amplificadas por su capacidad
creadora y propositiva.

“S.I.T. Manresa” (Servicio de Interpretación Territorial)
El objetivo es trabajar la transformación actual y futura del territorio
a partir del imaginario metropolitano y de la información que nos
proporcionan el conocimiento, las opiniones y la documentación,
de ciudadanos y entidades Manresa y el Pla de Bages. Dentro de la convocatoria

Sitesize defines itself as a project initiator
in the hybrid field of social analysis and creative processes. Its objective
is to generate instruments of critical knowledge based on collective forms
of thought and investigation in order to create spaces for dialogue and
set in motion collaborative creation/participation processes. Local contexts
are the privileged work sites for experiencing territories as new forms
of action which, thanks to their creative and purposefullness character,
tend to widen their scope.
Sitesize develops projects related to those aspects of immaterial values
that contribute to the creation of citizen identities. We work with those
cultural forms that provide recognition, representation and the diffusion
of highly cohesive arguments. In the majority of cases, we start from
a commitment to critical evaluation which offers transversal visions and
readings and activate creative dialogue.

-Pasaje Chile_Calle Barcelona. Imaginarios cruzados (2007-2008)
This project explores the ambivalent relationship between certain cultural
processes that are repeated in different cities (Barcelona and Santiago
de Chile), focusing especially on the ways in wich political offices –
as opposed to individuals – recover their respective social memories.
-LIMITS (2007)
Workshop about condition and Metropolitan cultural action. Explore the
city’s limits to recognize its tangible and intagible frontiers.
-SIT Manresa, Territorial Interpretation Service (2005-2006)
It’s a service which offers itself as a platform for the production
and exchange of local territorial knowledge with the objective of evaluating
territorial transformation. SIT conceives as a model of participative
investigation based on mechanism of collective knowledge production, relational
actions and communication strategies.

The construction of narratives from local communities, between the personal,
the collective and the common.
-Landscape_NOW (2006)
New gazes at contemporany landscape to interpret the territory of Vallès
and its present and future transformation.
-Cooperative City workshop and Tour Cooperator (2004)
Workshop and urban tour exploring the global image of the city of Barcelona
from the perspective of neighbours and neighbourhood organizations.
-Poble 9_ Citizens22@ (2003-2004)
Site and audiovisual work concerning the urban transformation of the Poblenou
neighbourhood of Barcelona based on the experiences and public actions
of its habitans.
-TAO Ripoll River (2003)
Temporary autonomous office. Representation of the territorial identity
of the River Ripoll in Sabadell (Barcelona) and the collective construction
of a territorial imaginary.
