first day/ dia 5 : dilluns, monday 21.04.03

 

09:30 Esmorzar a l' hotel, xerrem amb el Collin i la seva acompanyant que ens assenyalen sobre el mapa punts d' interès tel·lúric. Paguem dues nits d' hotel.

09:30 Breakfast in the Hotel. We talk with Collin and his companion. They point us some telluric points of interest on the map. We pay two Hotel nights.

 

10:35 Pugem a Miramar, fem panoràmiques de tota la plana. El dia és molt clar, es pot veure fins i tot el mar i la zona industrial de Tarragona.

10:35 We go up to Miramar. We take panoramic photos of the whole plain. It is a very bright day and even the sea and the industrial zone of Tarragona can be seen.
 


13:00Visitem el Dalí de Valls que ens mostra les seves pintures, l' àlbum de noces, la seva casa i la col·lecció de videos. El Joan li compra una pintura gran, el títol és "La luna en el pantano", a més de dos làmines petites.


13:00 We visit the “Dalí from Valls” and he shows us his paintings, his wedding album, his house and his video collection. Joan buys him a big painting titled “La lluna en el Pantà” (The moon in the reservoir) and two more small paintings.

15:10 Enregistrem alguns enderrocs de la part antiga, l' estació de tren i de la zona de grans superfícies.

15:10 We record the ruins from the old area, the train station and the superstore area.

16:10 Dinem a un dels restaurants més grans de les afores de Valls. Dues racions de calçots i de segon sopa de peix.

16:10 We have lunch in one of the biggest restaurants of the Valls outskirts. We order two plates of “calçots” (typical Catalan onion) and fish soup.

18:15 Al barri de les Comarques fotografiem una casa ben curiosa, les totxanes de la façana estan de costat, l' amo ens diu que la va construir el seu pare.

18:15 In Comarques neighborhood we photograph a very curious house whose bricks are placed sideways. The owner tells us that it was built by his father.

19:30 Camí a Montblanc veiem un altre tram de les obres de l' AVE. En arribar al poble busquem allotjament, els carrers estan deserts i finalment ens decidim per l' hotel de la carretera.

19:30 On our way to Montblanc we can see another stretch of the AVE construction. Yet in Montblanc we look for accommodation. The streets are deserted and finally we decide to go to the hotel near the road.


20:00 Entrem a l'habitació 122 de l' Hotel Ducal. El Joan està refredat i té una mica de febre. Ens estirem al llit i repassem les cintes de video i les fotografies.

20:00 We enter the room 122 in Ducal Hotel. Joan has a cold and some temperature. We have a rest on the bed and check the video tapes and photos.
